Massage can help with any ailment that causes you stress, anxiety, fear and pain. Relaxing will switch your brain from the stress response of basic animal instinct response (fight/flight/freeze) to the rest/repair system response; that allows your body to rest, relax and have time to heal, and for your immune system to do its job.

Constant demands of the modern life is putting people under permanent stress which the mind and body cannot cope with without relaxing properly. Basic self-care is paramount, this includes stretching, hot baths, some physical exercise, hobbies, meditation, listening to music, anything that can take your mind to a state of relaxation. (TV and shopping might not be the best relaxation option here ;-)

Benefits :

Warming up the skin, dilates the blood vessels and reduces blood pressure hence heart rate and breathing rate.

Working on knots and tight muscles will clear up the accumulation of lactic acid and toxins of the overworked muscles. Massage will break the congested area and knots by bringing some fresh blood and nutrients and will also flush back all the toxins back into the system for elimination.

Stretching will reset your tendons to their normal status of natural tension. Relaxing will improve your immune system and stop the stress hormones response.
